Our Beloved Champagne Christmas Trees
Exploring our 2026 Themes
Champagne is one of our favorite Christmas tree themes, and we've been revamping it for a few years now. This year our designer Natalie added whites, a giant picture frame and a whole lot of texture. Here's what she did, and how to borrow the ideas for your own tree.
Start with a wow moment
Natalie will tell you she gets a little carried away with her inspirations.
"I want to do things different, that you'd walk into a house and have a wow moment."
This year that meant an oversized picture frame, set right into the tree. When she described it, Dustee's honest answer was, "I just don't see it." Then the tree came together and Dustee had to admit it: Natalie was right. The frame is wired in, so it's secure, and it turns the whole tree into something like a snapshot.
You don't need a frame to use the idea. Pick one unexpected piece and build around it.
What changed this year: The Whites
Last year's champagne tree stayed mostly neutral. This year Natalie pulled in whites, and it gave the tree a fresh, clean look. The crystal, the dangles and the garland are what pull it all together.
Formal or homey, your call
Natalie calls this a statement tree. It fits a formal living room, a formal dining room or an entryway.
But champagne doesn't have to be formal. It's just very easy to make formal. A few simple ornaments look elegant on their own, and you can take pieces out to tone the whole thing down into something homier. On this tree we added eucalyptus for an earthier feel, plus white, glitter and pearls for texture.
And then, of course, there's the bling.
Plan around the piece you love
The pearl and crystal pick on this tree is one we reordered for a second year. It spreads out to look full, and last year it sold out before October.
The advice we give everyone applies here: if you see an element in a tree that you absolutely love, buy it. You can always come back for the fillers. That one specialty piece is the thing that's hard to find later, and by October and November you're seeing our second, third and fourth versions of a tree.
A few other favorites on this tree:
- Big pine cones with beads at the top. A great pop.
- Poinsettias with lots of glitter and pearl detail.
- Pre-made bows, in champagne, white, red and gold [confirm: black is also available].
Bows: make them, buy them, or let us
We love ribbon, but we love a good pre-made bow too. If you'd rather just clip one on, we have plenty.
We'll also be offering sessions on how to make bows and how to troubleshoot them [confirm: dates and format]. And if you don't want to learn at all, that's fine. Buy our ribbon and we'll make your bows.
The big bow on this tree is all about layers. Natalie mixed pearl ribbon, white velvet, satin champagne, a white and champagne-gold diamond ribbon and a beaded ribbon, with pieces swirled and dangling down.
"I'm a texture. I always talk texture."
She didn't run ribbon all the way through the tree. The bow on top of the frame is the statement, and it fills a lot of space. If you want more, buy a little extra ribbon and add three-loop bows throughout the tree to fill gaps.
A topper with a little whimsy
The topper starts with a small white glitter pick, with pearls and gold added so they stand out. Then Natalie added a few butterflies at the top of the tree and on the top and bottom of the frame.
"I love the gentle elegance and whimsy of the butterflies."
It's also a lovely look for a Christmas wedding. More and more brides are bringing trees into their weddings.
